Service Description
Learn to Play Steel Drums in a group ensemble of up to 9 students. (Ages 15 and Up) Students will learn traditional Caribbean songs and a variety of new and old eclectic tunes. Taught by Ted Canning who leads the RIT Steel Drum ensemble (where he also teaches percussion). Ted also leads the Geneseo Community Steel Band and Plays in Pan Loco, a steel pan group. He has over 30 years experience playing and teaching steel drums. Classes are Held on all five Tuesdays in the month of October. $150 for all five classes ($30 a class) and includes the use of Leads, Double Seconds, Guitars, and Bass pans that will be transported to the Lab for each class. Pans are hard to come by and expensive so take this opportunity to learn on a wide variety of different sounding drums! :)
